If you’ve finished planting your vegetables, start planning for a great summer of racing. It’s just over a week until the Port Nelson Sea Swim Series starts. More than 70 people have already signed up. You can help the hard-working volunteers by getting in your entry sooner, rather than later. There’s a fair amount of work involved in transferring those entries on to the pieces of paper that are used to deal efficiently with the queue on opening night, when we expect in excess of 150 swimmers – all wanting their new cap and a race number without undue delay. We want to start on time,so (1) get your entry in, and (2) allow plenty of time on opening night. Parking is always a problem, especially if you arrive late. You can’t use the yacht club carparks, so please don’t do it – we like to keep relations cordial (please don’t bring dogs – another part of our agreement with the yacht club). You can sign up for the swims now – either by credit card, or by paying at the event.
