With just a few days left until race one of the Shoe Clinic Mountainbike Duathlon Series (Sunday), there's some heavy-duty entering going on.
Quite a few people have been out and tested the course and it seems to have met with some approval.
Today I've added quite a lot of stuff to the entry website. Our sponsors Tineli have some nice new jerseys for the winners of race one to carry into race two. As well, when you run, walk or bike into transition, or when you finish the race, you'll pass through the fabulous Tineli arch.
Because people want to know who the opposition is, I've added a facilty for you to check the entry list. When I last looked, there were 33 people competing in the long run event, 38 in the short version and seven walkers. You can check the entry list from the link on the right of the front page of the entry site.
I've also added a summary of the race day procedure. You can check it all out by clicking here.
You can tell I had a day off work. I also added some news updates to the tri club site. There's more to come in the next day or two. You can check those out here.
If you haven't yet entered the duathlon series, you still have until noon Saturday. If you don't like credit cards, or you thnk you might sleep in if it's raining, then chose to option Pay at Event at the end of the online entry process. Similarly, if you're entering a family, enter each person as an individual, then claick the Pay at Event option. We'll make sure there's a credit entered before race day that will leave with just the family price of $70 for the series.
You can still enter on the day, but it will take much longer, will cost you $5 more per person and you'll be a nuisance.
For all that, we'd love to see you there. It's going to be a great series.
See you Sunday
Peter Gibbs
