Rylock Windows & Doors Endurance Series

The Rylock Windows & Doors Endurance Series of four longer swims will provide an extra challenge, particularly for those swimmers targeting the Banana Boat Ocean Swim Series, held nationally (for details of the Banana Boat Series, click here

Rylock Endurance series


Individual races:

Race 1 – Opening Splash, starts at 10.45am Sunday December 5, 2021, and is a 2km swim.

Opening Splash is a reversal of the Eyebright Mile. Start at Tahunanui Beach and finish at the yacht club ramp. Short option, start at Richardson St Steps, swim to the yacht club, 600m (must sign on at Tahunanui Beach by 10.30am). High tide 11.13am (4.4m).


Race 2 – Rylock Windows & Doors Challenge, 5km time 9.30am, Sunday January 2, 2022, A new race, new course! Course to be confirmed.
High tide 10.11pm (4.2m).


Race 3 – Eyebright Mile, starts at 9am Sunday Febuary 13, 2022, and is a 2km swim.
This is the traditional race from the Nelson Yacht Club ramp to Tahunanui. We also have a shorter option (1300m) from Richardson St steps, starting TBC.
Everyone must register first at the yacht club by 8.45am. High tide 9.00am (3.3m).


Race 4 – Rylock Windows & Doors Ironman Challenge, 3.8km 11.45am, Sunday March 20, 2022,  
Swimmers head north from Tahunanui Beach, starting at 11.45am and will reach the dolphin navigation marker at about high tide, turning south to follow the southeast toe of Haulashore Island around to the second navigation marker to the south of the island, then back to the beach. Competitors in the short swim of 1300m will walk to the Richardson St steps, swimming straight back to Tahunanui Beach, starting 30 minutes after the 3.8km race. All competitors must register at Tahunanui Beach by 11.30am. High tide 12.13am (4.3m).
